Anita Groener was born in Veldhoven in The Netherlands. She holds a Master Degree from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Arnhem and a BA Degree from TeHaTex, Tilburg in The Netherlands. Recent exhibitions were Land at Rubicon Gallery Dublin; Somewhere Else at Sub Urban Video Lounge Rotterdam; All About Drawing at Stedelijk Museum Schiedam; Meer at Voorkamer, Lier, Begium; Gilgamesh at Rubicon Gallery Dublin, Mesh at West Cork Arts Centre in 2009 and Crossing at RHA Gallagher Gallery in 2006; I Am Always Touched By Your Presence Dear, Irish Museum of Modern Art Dublin; Eugen Lendl Gallery, Graz, Austria; Into Irish Drawing shown in Limerick City Arts Gallery, Limerick, Civic Arts Gallery Hengelo, The Netherlands, Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris. Presentations at ARCO Madrid, MACO Mexico, ART Rotterdam, ART Brussels, ARTTISSIMA Turin with Rubicon Gallery. The artist was the Head of Fine Art at the Dublin Institute of Technology where she continues to work as a professor in fine art. She gave a Masterclass in Drawing at St Lucas Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Ghent en was a keynote speaker at the Contemporary Drawing Symposium at ArtEz Institute Enschede during 2009. In 2010 she was invited for an residency at the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation, Connecticut, USA where she worked during November and December. Recent drawing installations include 'Province' commissioned for Kunstmoment by Drawing Centre Diepenheim and 'Switch' for Voorkamer in Lier, Belgium. In 2011 Anita Groener will exhibit work in 'All About Drawing | 100 Dutch Artists' in the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, The Netherlands.

Anita Groener was het hoofd van de vrije afdeling aan het Dublin Institute of Technology waar ze nu weer werkt als docente schilderen en tekenen. Recent gaf ze een Masterclass Drawing aan de St Lucas Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Gent en gaf een presentatie tijdens het Hedendaagse Tekeningen Symposium at ArtEz Instituut Enschede. In 2010 heeft ze gewerkt gedurende een artist residency in de Josef & Anni Albers Foundation, Connecticut, USA. In opdracht voor Kunstmoment, Drawing Centrum Diepenheim installeerde ze in 2010 'Province' een muur tekening installatie en 'Switch' voor de expositie MEER in Voorkamer in Lier, Belgie. In 2011 exposeert Anita Groener werk in 'All About Drawing | 100 Nederlandse kunstenaars' in Stedelijk Museum Schiedam. Haar werk is vertegenwoordigd in verschillende openbare en privé collecties; The Irish Museum of Modern Art; The Arts Council of Ireland; ABN-AMRO Bank; Lease Plan BV Nederland; State Art Collection Ireland OPW; The National Drawing Archive Ireland; Allied Irish Bank; Dublin Institute of Technology.
