All The King's Horses is a digital collage drawing made for Point To Point exhibition curated by Gemma Tipton in 2011. I focussed on the horse in the history of painting and clipped them from copies of paintings found on the internet. Rounded up into the one field they reemerge dislocated and lost from their original context. From a distance the horses appear as tiny specks their individuality only to be perceived through a magnifying glass (detail with mouse over). I found horses in reproductions of paintings by Goya, Potter, Botticelli, Géricault, Stubbs, Rembrandt, Kline, Gauguin, Wouwerman, Cuyp, Delacroix, Breughel, Aggassi, David, Courbet among many more and horses made famous by their deeds, the people they carried or from historical events; Napoleon's retreat from the battlefield in Russia, general Jackson at the battle of New Orleans, Jean D'Arc, The Oklahoma Land Rush, Shergar....
